Alison Yokouchi Made by Ali Yoko

Alison Yokouchi held her first pop-up at Ethel’s Grill during the pandemic shutdown and that was the start of Made by Ali Yoko. Born and raised in ‘Aiea, Alison is influenced by her mother’s cooking and travels abroad. She has 20 years of experience working at various restaurants and hotels on O‘ahu and Hawai‘i Island.

Beverly Luk is the pastry chef behind Nami Kaze izakaya & sushi bar, the restaurant she opened with her husband, chef Jason Peel. She loves to combine nostalgic, classic pastry and desserts with modern and Asian touches and flavors.

Cristina Nishioka Beyond Pastry Studio

Cristina Nishioka studied pastry arts in the Philippines, then went off to live and work in Doha, Qatar and Singapore before moving to Hawaii in 2015. She is one of the growing number of pastry chefs who have gone solo over the last two years. She strives to bring her heritage and travels abroad into her pastries, combined with the techniques she learned for the last 20 years. After a few months of pop-ups, she now has a brick and mortar location in Downtown Honolulu.

Growing up in Hawaii, Francesca Lee cultivated a passion for baking as a child while helping her mom bake desserts for many family celebrations and holiday parties. Her love for desserts and baking grew as she honed in on her baking skills while working for a local bakery. In 2019, Francesca took the leap of faith and started Petite Sweets and continues to bring customers quality and flavorful desserts. You can find her and Petite Sweets at the Honolulu Farmers Market, local popup events and catering orders.

Gayla Young is the owner/proprietor of Pipeline Bakeshop & Creamery. You will find many of her family recipes in the bakeshop, as well as some new ones from her. Her malasadas have received national and international recognition. Pipeline also offers homemade ice cream, a wide range of pastries including their large monster cookies and signature Cake Bombs®.

I'm a full time accounting associate with a passion for the food service industry and sustainable sourcing. With 15 years of former kitchen experience in Seattle, California, and Hawaii, I worked as a pastry chef and chef de partie for various restaurants. Although I am no longer in the food industry full time, I began hosting pop-up dining events to highlight sustainable sourcing and was also enrolled in Go Farm Hawaii - a program focused on teaching commercial agricultural practices to enhance our local food security and economy. With my free time, I spent the last 5 years learning the inner workings of cacao and have recently begun studying all about tea (Camellia sinensis), both of which we are able to grow here in Hawai'i.

My name is Jolie Harmon and I’m the owner of Posh Favors. I love all desserts and I started off decorating cookies as a hobby. It became a business during the pandemic when people were searching for ways to make their small celebrations special. I am best known for my themed custom cookie sets and I really enjoy the whole process - from conceptualizing the designs, to mixing the colors of icing, to creating the final product and seeing how much people love them.

Malynne Simeon-Guieb Ever Chocolate

Ever Chocolate began with a yearning for taste of home. Filipino-American creator Malynne Simeon-Guieb grew up traveling back and forth to the Philippines eating sweet treats made by family and local bakeries. One of the delicacies was povolron - a milky, crumbly, melt in your mouth shortbread cookie. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Malynne began creating these delights in her own kitchen. She made traditional flavors like ube and pandan and then began experimenting with other flavors like strawberry dipped in milk chocolate and the ever popular macnut toffee. Every one is mega SARAP (Tagalog for “delicious”)! Each bite is nostalgic for some and a new adventure for others. But either way, Patrons say Ever Chocolate polvoron are addictive so they keep coming back for more!

Michelle Karr-Ueoka is the pastry chef and owner of MW Restaurant and Artizen by MW. One of Hawaii's most acclaimed pastry chefs, Michelle's accolades include a Rising Star Chef award in 2012 and James Beard Foundation Award nominations for Best New Restaurant and Outstanding Pastry Chef and Hawaii's Restauranters of the Year in 2020, an award she shares with her husband, chef Wade Ueoka.

In 2022, Mimi left Senia to pursue her newest venture, as a mother to her newborn son.

I’m Shana, a Korean-American born and raised in Hawai’i. My Korean heritage and connections with my immigrant Korean in-laws motivated me to learn more about my cultural roots. I fell in love with Rice Blossoms' modern take on rice cakes (baek-sul-gi) and began taking intensive courses in Rice Blossoms' innovative style. Now, as part of the team, I'm excited to educate and share Rice Blossoms' modernized Korean desserts with friends and family here in Hawai`i!
